Raw Vegan Caramel Apples

Raw Vegan Caramel Apples step-by-step recipe |
"The healthiest dessert ever - raw apples coated in refined sugar free raw caramel!
These apple candies look wonderful, and they will be a big hit at childrens party! Because they are so addicting! Yum!"

Ingredients Serves 8

  • 1.5 cup medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy mlk
  • pinch salt
  • 2 pinches nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanills extract
  • 12-16 small apples
  • Some dessicated coconut and nuts for coating


  1. Soak 1.5 cup of medjool dates, 1/2 cup of cashew nuts in 1/2 cup of any non-dairy milk for 2-3 hours. After that, pour out the milk through a seive to drain the dates and nuts.

  2. Place soaked dates, cashew nuts, a pinch of salt, 2 pinces of ground nutmeg and a teaspoon of vanilla extract into a blender bowl. Proceed until very smooth. You may need several minutes to reach the desired consistency.

  3. For this dessert I highly recommend using sweet apples of small size. Small apples look pretty like candies!
    Use a knife to coat the apples with the caramel sauce.
    The amount of caramel should be enough for 16 small apples.

  4. Roll the apples in desiccated coconut. For the topping you can also use: ground almonds, walnuts, pistachios and small chocolate chips.

    The recipe is slightly adapted from Dreena Burton's book "Plant-Powered Families".
