Whole Roasted BBQ Cauliflower

Whole Roasted BBQ Cauliflower step-by-step recipe |

Ingredients Serves 4

  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4-5 tbsp vegan bbq sauce
  • 3-4 stems cilantro


  1. Rinse the cauliflower. For roasting a whole cauliflower, I recommend using a medium sized head not to fall into a situation when the outside turns brown, while the inside remains undercooked.

  2. Remove the outer leaves using a sharp knife, being careful not to cut into the stalk or florets. Cut off most of the core so that the cauliflower can sit on a flat surface.

  3. Place the cauliflower head on a baking dish. Pour some oil and massage it into the surface. Sprinkle some salt.

  4. Place the dish into the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes at 430F (220C) degrees until slightly brown.

  5. Take the dish out of the oven, generously cover the cauliflower with your favorite vegan BBQ sauce. Return the dish to the oven for a further 10-15 minutes.

  6. When done, transfer the caulifower to a plate, sprinkle with finely chopped cilantro. Let cool before slicing. Serve warm or cold.
