Ingredients Serves 1 - 2

  • 2 bananas
  • 4 dates
  • 1.5 tsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup almond (or soy) milk

Method

  1. Peel and slice 2 bananas, place the slices in a single layer on a flat surface and freeze for a couple of hours (or overnight).

  2. Before making a smoothie, raise, pit and soak 4 dates for 20-30 minutes in order to make them soft. It's not necessary if you have a high-powered blender. Place the dates into a blender jar, process.

  3. Add the frozen banana slices and blend until a smooth and creamy mixture is formed. Be patient, it may take some time.

  4. Add 1.5 tablespoon of cacao powder, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and process to combine. Next, add a cup of almond (or soy) milk, blend again for 20-30 seconds.
    This recipe makes one big glass of smoothie (about 14 fl. oz/400 ml).
